FAQ

Questions people bring to this cleanyourtv tutorial.

Is this the official site?

No. These pages are an independent cleanyourtv tutorial. You install Projectivy Launcher from the Play Store on the television. This website does not host that file.

Will it work on a Samsung or LG?

No. Replacing the home screen is for Android TV and Google TV. Samsung, LG, Roku, Vizio, and Hisense VIDAA stay on Lesson 1.

Do I need to root the TV?

No. Part 1 is a Play Store app and a switch. Part 2 disables the stock home. It does not root the set, flash firmware, or uninstall apps.

Do I need to install software?

Yes, one app: Projectivy Launcher, from the Play Store already on the television. This website does not provide that file. You need a computer and Google’s platform-tools only if Home still opens the old screen after Part 1. This site does not host that download either.

Can I undo it?

After Part 1, open Projectivy’s settings and turn Override current launcher off, then press Home. After Part 2, run the three pm enable lines on the tutorial page while the computer still says connected. If the picture is already gone and the computer cannot connect, use the factory reset in that model’s manual. Do not type more disable commands.

Will ads inside Netflix or YouTube disappear?

No. After cleanyourtv, the sponsored row goes away because the stock home screen no longer opens. Ads inside apps stay.

I only have the remote. Do I need a computer?

Not for Part 1. The Play Store and the override switch are on the television. A computer on the same Wi-Fi is only for Part 2, and only when Home did not change. This site does not give the phone an app.
