Match the system
Android TV and Google TV can take this tutorial. Samsung, LG, Roku, and VIDAA sets use a different, shorter lesson on the same page.
This site is the tutorial. It does not host software. The home-screen app comes from the Play Store on the television. Read the risks before any debugging step.
Follow it on the television
On Android TV and Google TV, the sponsored row is the stock home screen. This tutorial replaces that screen with Projectivy Launcher from the Play Store already on the set. If Home does not change, a second, riskier step turns the stock home off. Samsung, LG, Roku, and VIDAA are not part of that path.

02
Part 1 installs a home screen from the television’s own Play Store and turns on its override. The sponsored row leaves with the old home screen.
03
If Home already opens the new screen, stop. The debugging step can black-screen the set if the two Google TV commands are run out of order.
It replaces the stock Android TV or Google TV home screen. That screen is the sponsored row, so the row leaves when Home opens the new launcher. Apps you open yourself stay the same, and ads inside those apps stay too.
Lesson 1
The brand on the bezel is not the system. This page tells you which path you are on, including sets that should not start the cleanup.
Lesson 2
Play Store install, the override switch, then the debugging commands only if Home did not change. The restore lines are printed first.
Lesson 3
The sponsored row is gone because that home screen is no longer what opens. Apps you open yourself are unchanged. Ads inside those apps remain.
Lesson 4
Part 1 is undone in the new home screen’s settings. Part 2 can black-screen the set if the two Google TV commands are reversed. Read this before you type anything.
